Catherine P. Coulter

Catherine P. Coulter is a Counsel and leads Dentons Ottawa's Employment and Labour group, advising employers across the full spectrum of employment relationships, from day-to-day human resource challenges to complex dispute resolution.

She has more than three decades of experience guiding clients through workplace disability and accommodations, executive arrangements, Board governance, and employment issues in business transactions and reorganizations. She represents employers across a wide variety of sectors, with a particular focus on the technology sector, navigating the unique challenges faced by high-growth companies. She is also a sought-after thought leader and speaker, and previously served as the Dentons Canada lead for the global Employment and Labour group.

Catherine holds an LL.B from the University of Western Ontario (1988) and a B.Mus.A from the University of Michigan (1985).

She is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Labour and Employment Law, and was named "Lawyer of the Year" in Ottawa by Best Lawyers for Labour and Employment Law (2025). Her pro bono work for UN Women resulted in Dentons being recognized for Pro Bono Initiative of the Year at the 2021 Canada Law Awards.
