Cindy Yi

Cindy Yi is a Partner in the Real Estate group at Dentons, specializing in Real Estate Law. Her practice covers all aspects of the purchase, sale, and financing of commercial real estate, as well as real property development and commercial leasing, acting for borrowers and lenders in secured lending transactions and for both tenants and landlords in office, retail, and industrial leases.

Cindy has advised Motorola Solutions, Inc. on its acquisition of Rave Mobile Safety; acted for a private lender on a CA$13.5 million loan secured by a residential condominium building; acted for an institutional lender on a US$9 million loan for the acquisition of real estate and equipment in the US; advised on the negotiation of numerous retail and office leases for commercial properties across Canada; and acted for the vendor on a CA$38 million sale and leaseback of two industrial properties in Toronto totaling over 250,000 square feet.

Cindy holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law (2015) and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Toronto (2012). She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2016.

She is conversationally fluent in Mandarin, actively involved in the Chinese Canadian business community in the Greater Toronto Area, and a member of Toronto CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) sitting on the membership committee. She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada – Ones to Watch for Real Estate Law and received the David Stockwood Advocacy Award from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
