David M. Hunter

David M. Hunter is a Partner in Dentons' Corporate group working out of the Firm's Vancouver office, specialising in Mining Law. For nearly three decades, he has practised securities, corporate and natural resources law, acting for public and private companies, institutional venture capital investors and local governments, with a particular focus on mineral resource companies.

David advises on public and private equity and debt financings, takeover bids, acquisitions, arrangements and mergers, and handles all aspects of private and public venture capital financing. He also advises public company clients on regulatory compliance, disclosure and corporate governance. Notable transactions include advising Livent Corporation on its US$10.6 billion merger with Allkem to create Arcadium Lithium, advising Ely Gold Royalties Inc. on its CA$300 million acquisition by Gold Royalty Corp., and advising POSCO on its US$280 million acquisition of Argentinean lithium tenements. Before his legal career, David worked for five years as a commercial lending and risk management officer with a major Canadian bank.

David holds an LL.B. from the University of British Columbia (1994), an M.A. in Economics from Carleton University (1991), and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Simon Fraser University (1989).
