Dick (Richard) J. Cotter, KC

Dick (Richard) J. Cotter, KC is Senior Counsel at Dentons, focusing on Commercial Litigation. He has a varied practice in which he provides legal and business advice to entrepreneurial and business clients with a focus on real estate and commercial litigation.

His areas of focus include banking and finance, fraud, corruption and asset recovery, litigation and dispute resolution, and restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy.

Dick is recognised in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Litigation: Corporate Commercial and holds a Martindale-Hubbell BV Peer Review Rating. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1992.

He is a member and past Chairman of the Foreclosure Section of the Canadian Bar Association, a past Coordinator of the Canadian Bar Association’s Law Day, and an occasional speaker at seminars sponsored by the Legal Education Society of Alberta. He is a member of the Edmonton Bar Association and has served as a board member of the Glenrose Hospital Foundation and as former Secretary and Legal Counsel to the Edmonton Symphony Society and the Edmonton Concert Hall Foundation.

Dick holds an LLB from the University of Alberta (1976).
