Dina I. Awad

Dina I. Awad is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Regulatory practice groups, focusing on Environmental Law. Her practice covers environmental, infrastructure, health and safety, and public-law disputes, and she is regularly retained for investigations, enforcement proceedings, and complex compliance matters.

She has appeared before Canadian trial and appellate courts and numerous administrative tribunals, and has acted as counsel and arbitrator in commercial arbitrations. She previously served as legal counsel to a regulator, where she acted as a prosecutor, and as a judicial law clerk at the Federal Court of Appeal.

Her representative work includes advising Spotify AB in a judicial-review challenge to the CRTC’s “base contribution” regime, which was named one of Lexpert’s Top 10 Business Decisions of 2024/2025, leading investigations by Environment and Climate Change Canada, and defending insurers and multinationals in groundwater contamination and remediation litigation.

Dina is recognised in Chambers Global and Chambers Canada for Environment, and in The Legal 500 Canada for Environment, among other publications. She holds a BCL and LLB from McGill University (2011).
