Eamonn Watson

Eamonn Watson is a Senior Associate in Dentons Canada's Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group in Vancouver, specializing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. His practice encompasses corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, receivership, debt collection, security enforcement, and related litigation, with particular experience in multi‑jurisdictional and complex mandates under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA).

Eamonn has acted as lead or co‑counsel in significant proceedings involving assets and stakeholders across Canada and internationally. Notable matters include advising the Court‑appointed Monitor and Receiver in the Trevali Mining Corporation CCAA proceedings (involving mining assets in New Brunswick, Namibia, and Burkina Faso); acting as counsel to Quest University Canada in its CCAA restructuring; acting as counsel to Choom Holdings Inc., a cannabis retailer, in its CCAA restructuring; and advising the Court‑appointed Receiver in proceedings involving Yukon Zinc Corporation, owner of the Wolverine Mine. He has also acted for private mortgage lenders and judgment creditors in foreclosure and enforcement matters.

Eamonn holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, Allard School of Law (2019) and a B.Sc. in Agroecology from the University of British Columbia (2010). He is admitted to practice in British Columbia. He serves as Chair of the CBABC Insolvency Section executive committee and regularly speaks at national conferences, including the CBA Annual Insolvency Law Conference.
