Gentiane Joyal

Gentiane Joyal is Counsel in the Banking and Finance group at Dentons' Montréal office, specialising in Entertainment Law. Her practice focuses on the entertainment industry, representing Canadian and foreign financial institutions in their financings of television and motion picture productions.

Gentiane has acted as counsel to National Bank of Canada and Royal Bank of Canada on numerous production financing matters, including many international co-productions involving Canada‑Germany, Canada‑France, Canada‑Ireland, Canada‑South Africa, Canada‑England, and multi‑country treaty co-productions. She has also advised Financière des entreprises culturelles du Québec (FIDEC) on various gap financing plans and has acted on over a thousand transactions in the entertainment law space.

Gentiane holds an LL.B. and B.C.L. from McGill University (1999). She is recognised by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and The Best Lawyers in Canada as a leading lawyer in Entertainment Law.
