Jaclin Cassios

Jaclin Cassios is Counsel at Dentons’ Edmonton office, practising in the Corporate and Intellectual Property and Technology groups, focusing on Intellectual Property Law.

Jaclin’s corporate practice focuses on guiding clients through a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters such as drafting commercial agreements.

In her intellectual property practice, she provides strategic guidance on the management and expansion of trademark portfolios. As a registered Canadian trademark agent, she has experience in all steps of the trademark process, from pre-application clearance searches and opinions to filing, registration and renewal. She regularly prepares intellectual property licensing and assignment agreements and advises on intellectual property-specific considerations in commercial transactions.

She also assists clients with issues related to technology, privacy and access to information, including preparing terms of use and privacy policies, arguments to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, and opinions on compliance with provincial and federal privacy legislation.

Her representative matters include acting as Canadian legal counsel to The Westaim Corporation on the US$250 million strategic investment by Wembley Group Partners, LP, representing Colony Digital Inc. on the sale of substantially all of its assets, and advising Fire & Flower Holdings Corp. on its acquisition of Friendly Stranger Holdings Corp. She holds a JD from the University of Windsor (2016) and a BA from the University of Alberta (2012), and is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Edmonton Bar Association.
