Jennifer A. Thompson

Jennifer A. Thompson is a Partner and the Calgary leader of the Employment and Labour group at Dentons, focusing on management-side labour, employment, human rights and privacy law. She advises both unionized and non-unionized employers on employment agreements, restrictive covenants, workplace policies, employment standards, collective bargaining, human rights complaints and privacy compliance.

She has appeared before the Alberta Court of King's Bench, the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal and the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal. Her experience includes acting for a federally regulated telecommunications organisation in a successful defence of an unjust dismissal complaint, and appearing before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal in a human rights complaint involving disability and age. Prior to joining Dentons, she practised as a solicitor in England (admitted 2012) and gained international business experience as a commercial officer at a multinational aerospace company in Germany.

Jennifer holds a B.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge (2009) and a Post‑graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Distinction from BPP Law School (2010). She is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers and the Advocates' Society.
