Jim Rossiter

Jim Rossiter is a Partner and Chair of the Dentons Global Sports Group, focusing on sports law, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border financing. For over 25 years, he has led the acquisition and financing of numerous major league professional sports teams and stadiums and arenas across the US and Canada.

He has led high-profile transactions including representing a state government on NFL relocation and stadium construction, a $2.250 billion stadium financing for SoFi Stadium, the acquisition of the Vegas Golden Knights, the Dallas Stars under Chapter 11, the Ottawa Senators, the St. Louis Blues, and the Montreal Canadiens. He has also advised on league-wide credit facilities, naming rights deals exceeding $1.5 billion, and Holdco Loans totaling over $1.8 billion. His practice extends beyond sports to include the acquisition of hotels, office towers, aviation logistics businesses, and global cosmetics companies.

Jim holds an LL.M. and a J.D. from Osgoode Hall, as well as a degree in Commerce and Finance from the University of Toronto.

He is recognized by The Legal 500 Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the areas of Capital Markets and Corporate/M&A. He has represented clients including BMO, Apollo Capital, CIT, JPMorgan, and Bank of America.
