Notable matters include advising a syndicate of lenders on a CA$210 million project financing for the Narrows Inlet Hydro Project; advising Capital Power Corporation on the acquisition of 284 MW of natural gas-fired generation assets in Ontario; advising Capital Power Income L.P. on its CA$1.1 billion acquisition by Atlantic Power Corporation; advising AltaGas Ltd. on the development and construction of the 195‑MW Forrest Kerr Hydro‑Electric Project; advising EPCOR Utilities Inc. on the acquisition of a wind power project in Northern B.C.; and advising on the CA$300 million Royal Jubilee Hospital DBFM project. He has also advised on LNG tanker financings, upstream oil and gas joint ventures, and major petrochemical projects in the Middle East.

He holds an LL.B from the University of British Columbia (1990) and a B.Comm (with Distinction) from the University of Calgary (1987). He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1991, as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 1992, and to the British Columbia Bar in 2005.
