Sandy Walker

Sandy Walker is a Partner at Dentons and Co-Chair of the Competition and Foreign Investment Review group, specializing in Competition Law. She is recognized as one of Canada's leading competition and Investment Canada Act lawyers, focusing on securing government approvals for mergers and acquisitions from the Competition Bureau, Investment Canada, and other regulatory agencies.

Sandy advises on complex "net benefit to Canada" reviews and national security reviews on behalf of foreign investors, including state‑owned and private sector clients. She also provides strategic compliance advice on pricing, distribution, and trade practices across a wide array of industries, including financial services, technology, mining, oil and gas, power, automotive, media and entertainment, food and beverage, manufacturing, transportation, and retail. Notable matters include advising Livent Corporation on its US$10.6 billion merger of equals with Allkem Limited; acting as Canadian counsel to KPS Capital Partners on the $3.45 billion acquisition of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope; advising Atura Power on the $2.8 billion acquisition of a 1,858MW portfolio of power plants; advising Enbridge Inc. on the $1.75 billion sale of a 49% interest in renewable power assets; and advising Shaw Communications Inc. on its $1.6 billion acquisition of WIND Mobile. She also advised CN on the Canadian aspects of its sale of non‑core lines and assets.

Sandy holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an LL.B. from the University of Toronto, and an Honours B.A. in Economics and Political Studies from Queen's University. She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1988.
