Barbara Walancik-Hatch

Barbara Walancik-Hatch is a Counsel in the Employment and Labour group in Dentons' Toronto office, practicing Pension, Benefits and Executive Compensation in Canada.

She has been advising plan sponsors and administrators on all aspects of pension plans and employee benefits for more than 10 years, assisting private and public sector clients with plan design, amendments, administration, governance, regulatory compliance, surplus distribution, de-risking, restructuring, wind-ups and information security. She also advises on pensions and benefits in corporate transactions including asset and share transactions, restructurings and reorganizations. She has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, various appellate levels and the Financial Services Tribunal.

Barbara holds a J.D. from the University of Windsor (2011) and an Honors B.A. in Political Science from the University of Toronto (2006).

She serves as Member-at-Large on the Canadian Bar Association Pension and Benefits Section Executive and as a board member of the Pension Sub-Committee at March of Dimes Canada.
