Jordan Schultz

Jordan Schultz is a Partner in Dentons' Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group in Vancouver, focusing on complex commercial restructuring and insolvency matters, including in- and out-of-court restructurings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), debtor-in-possession financing, distressed asset purchases, and governance issues for insolvent companies.

He regularly acts for debtors, monitors, lenders, trustees, receivers and investors across industries including real estate, forestry, agriculture, retail, mining, aviation and technology. He is both an experienced litigator, having appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, and a skilled commercial advisor on financing, acquisition and restructuring transactions. Notable matters include advising the Monitor in the CCAA proceedings of The Teal Jones Group, a large cross-border forestry organization; acting as counsel to the Monitor in the Veris Gold Group CCAA and Chapter 15 proceedings; and advising the Ad Hoc Group of First Lien Lenders in the CCAA/Chapter 15 proceedings of Catalyst Paper Corporation. He also led the groundbreaking CCAA restructuring of the Jameson House Project, a CA$200 million mixed-use development, and has advised on cross-border restructurings involving assets in the US and Canada.

Jordan holds an LL.B and a B.Sc (Hons) from the University of British Columbia (2005, 2008).

He is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada, The Legal 500 Canada and IFLR 1000 Canada for Restructuring and Insolvency. He is a board member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association Insolvency Subsection.
