Larry Nevsky is a Partner and Head of the Toronto Tax group at Dentons, and a member of the Dentons Canada Region Board. He is both a lawyer and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), advising domestic and international clients on a wide range of tax-related matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, corporate finance, business structuring, inbound and outbound expansion, cross-border transactions and tax dispute resolution.
He has extensive experience representing taxpayers in provincial and federal tax audits, objections and appeals, as well as voluntary disclosures. Notable matters include advising Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. on its separation of the traditional studios business from Starz Entertainment by way of a plan of arrangement; advising StackAdapt on its US$235 million financing led by Teachers' Venture Growth; advising the Special Committee of Magnet Forensics Inc. on its CA$1.8 billion sale to Thoma Bravo; and advising Millennial Lithium Corp. on its CA$500 million acquisition by Lithium Americas Corp. He has also acted as counsel before the Federal Court of Appeal, the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court in notable tax cases.
