Sean Peister

Sean Peister is a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Regulatory practice groups in Dentons' Edmonton office, specialising in Corporate Law. He advises clients on a wide variety of business and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, share and asset purchase transactions, and issues of corporate governance and organisation.

Sean's regulatory practice focuses on international and domestic trade, government contracts and a broad range of other regulatory and administrative matters. He previously served as a trade lawyer with the Government of Alberta, where he advised on multiple investor‑state dispute settlement claims and contributed to the development and implementation of several legislative projects. He also brings deep experience in interpreting and applying trade agreements such as the NWPTA, CFTA, CUSMA and CPTPP.

Sean holds a J.D. from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law (2020) and a B.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Alberta (2017).
