Gary R. Sollis

Gary R. Sollis is a Partner at Dentons in Vancouver, practicing in the areas of corporate and securities law with a focus on acquisitions, financings and reorganizations.

He advises public and private companies on financing transactions including public offerings, private placements of debt and equity, special warrant financings, and limited partnership offerings. His experience includes takeover bids, mergers, proxy contests, spin-offs, joint ventures and acquisitions of private businesses across multiple sectors. Notable transactions include advising EPR Properties on its acquisition of two Canadian waterparks and resorts, Ondine Biomedical on its AIM IPO, Millennial Lithium Corp. on its CA$500 million acquisition by Lithium Americas, Herschend Family Entertainment on its acquisition of the Vancouver Aquarium, and a British Columbia-based retail company on its US$200 million+ cross-border sale to a US private equity firm.

Gary holds an LL.B from Dalhousie University (1977) and a B.A. from the University of Victoria (1974).

He is an adjunct professor of securities regulation at the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia and has lectured for the Continuing Legal Education Society and the British Columbia Professional Legal Training Course.
