John S. Haythorne, P. Eng

John S. Haythorne, P. Eng is Senior Counsel in Dentons' Vancouver office, specialising in Infrastructure Law. He is a leading construction, infrastructure and procurement lawyer with a particular focus on negotiating, drafting and advising on contracts for public-private partnerships and alternate forms of project delivery.

John has advised municipal and healthcare authorities, the Province of British Columbia and private clients on tenders, requests for proposals and complex procurements, including major infrastructure projects such as the Pattullo Bridge Replacement, BC Hydro Site C Clean Energy Project, the Centerm Expansion Project and the RCMP Division E Headquarters Relocation Project. A Registered Professional Engineer, he worked as a Professional Engineer on infrastructure projects prior to entering law, bringing a practical and solutions-focused approach to complex construction matters. He served as President of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia from 1997 to 1998.

John holds an LL.B. and a B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from the University of British Columbia, and is a Registered Professional Engineer.

He is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers and is recognised by Chambers Canada, The Legal 500 Canada, The Best Lawyers in Canada and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in Construction and Infrastructure Law.
