M. Theresa Cesareo

M. Theresa Cesareo is a Senior Associate in Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, based in Toronto. Her practice focuses on Commercial Litigation.

Her broad litigation practice includes commercial litigation, real estate disputes, commercial leasing disputes, professional negligence, construction litigation and franchise litigation.

Theresa has successfully represented clients before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court and various tribunals. She has also contributed to client matters before the Divisional Court and Ontario Court of Appeal. Theresa has ample experience before the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board, specifically in commission disputes, and has successfully represented brokerage and agent clients before the Real Estate Commission of Ontario.

She is passionate about alternative dispute resolution, restorative justice and mediation, employing a collaborative and creative approach to help clients negotiate and achieve their unique goals.

She holds a JD from the University of Windsor (2016), completed the ADR Intensive Program at the University of Hertfordshire, UK (2015), and holds a B Soc Sc (Hons) from the University of Ottawa (2013). She is recognised by The Legal 500 Canada for Transport – Other transport (2025).

She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, The Advocates Society, the Ontario Bar Association and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
