Meaghen Russell

Meaghen Russell is a Partner in Dentons' Employment and Labor group in Toronto, advising and representing employers on a wide range of employment and labor matters, including human rights issues, workplace accommodation, wrongful dismissal litigation, and employment contracts and policies.

She has represented clients in numerous trials, mediations and hearings before various tribunals. Notable representations include successfully defending a national restaurant chain at trial against a wrongful dismissal claim, acting for employers in matters before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and successfully representing a construction client against an application for certification. She also provides training to clients on workplace accommodation, and workplace violence and harassment. Prior to joining Dentons, she practiced in Chicago, representing private and public sector employers in employment, labor, education law and civil rights defence.

Meaghen holds a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and an LL.B. from the University of Windsor (2005), and was admitted to both the Ontario Bar and the Illinois Bar in 2006. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario (2002).

She is recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada for Labour and Employment Law, by The Legal 500 Canada, and by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Employment Law. She was the recipient of the Lexpert Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 award in 2019.
