Nicholas C. Williams

Nicholas C. Williams is a Partner in Dentons' Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group, specializing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. He represents secured and unsecured creditors, including banks, financial institutions, corporations, and individuals, in credit and debt collection, security enforcement (residential and commercial), bankruptcy, receiverships, and restructuring matters. He also frequently represents court‑appointed receivers and trustees on complex financial matters.

Nicholas develops file strategies with clients to ensure expedient and financially‑appropriate results from the outset. He is skilled in preparing pleadings, applications, and orders reflecting applicable case law and legislation, and has appeared before the Court of King's Bench of Alberta and the Court of Appeal of Alberta. Beyond litigation, he is experienced in negotiating settlements to resolve matters where extensive litigation may not be necessary.

He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta (2015), where he was on the Dean's List, and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction in Business Economics and Law from the University of Alberta (2012). He was admitted to practice in Alberta in 2016.
