Nurhan Aycan

Nurhan Aycan is a Partner in Dentons’ Toronto office and a member of its Corporate group, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. His practice also covers capital markets and private equity, with a particular focus on assisting high-growth companies.

He has more than 25 years of experience dealing with Canadian and international corporate and commercial matters. As a former general counsel of a high-growth multinational plastic products company and a managing director for an international private equity fund focused on distressed turnaround situations, he acts for multinational clients as their outside general counsel across diverse industry sectors.

His representative experience includes advising Cummins Inc. on its acquisition of Hydrogenics Corporation and its buyout of Air Liquide’s 19% interest in Hydrogenics, and advising on the roll-up of over 35 diagnostic medical clinics culminating in the sale of MyHealth Partners to WELL Health Technologies Inc.

Nurhan has been recognised in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a Top 50 lawyer in the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors, and received the 2023 OBA Lauren D. Rachlin Award for Excellence in International Business Law. He holds a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University (1992) and a BA from the University of Toronto (1987).
