Scott McLeman

Scott McLeman is a Partner in the National Banking and Finance and Corporate groups at Dentons' Calgary office, specialising in Banking and Finance Law. With over 25 years of experience, he advises clients across corporate finance and secured transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and commercial real estate acquisitions and sales.

Scott represents creditors—including banks and other major financial institutions—and debtors in both domestic and cross-border contexts. His practice focuses primarily on financial services, real estate and diversified lending. Known for combining deep technical expertise with a practical, business-oriented approach, he acts as both a legal and strategic advisor to clients navigating significant financial and corporate decisions.

Scott holds an LL.B. (2004) and a B.Sc. (1996) from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.

He is recognised in The Best Lawyers in Canada for Banking and Finance and has previously served as a Director at the Calgary French International School and Woods Homes.
