Ira Cooper

Ira Cooper is a Partner in the Banking and Finance group in Dentons' Calgary office, focusing on corporate finance, syndicated lending, project finance, structured finance, and acquisition financing.

He represents lenders, investors, borrowers and issuers across a wide range of industries including energy, energy services, pipelines, agriculture, financial services, aviation and the food industry. Notable matters include advising Saturn Oil & Gas Inc. on its transformational CA$525 million asset acquisition and debt recapitalization, advising the Agent and Lenders on numerous syndicated credit facilities in excess of $400 million and $750 million, and advising Birchcliff Energy on senior secured credit facilities in the aggregate amount of CA$950 million. He also advised Crescent Point Energy Corp. on senior unsecured credit facilities in the aggregate amount of US$2.1 billion.

Ira holds an LL.B (2002) and a B.Sc (1998) from the University of Alberta.
