Tim B. Haney

Tim B. Haney is the Chief Executive Officer of Dentons, Canada's Global Law Firm. He is also a member of the Dentons Global Management Committee and Global Board. Recognised as one of Canada's leading lawyers in corporate finance, M&A and private equity, his practice focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions.

Since his appointment as CEO of Dentons Canada in February 2022, Tim has led the firm through a period of significant growth, modernisation and transformation. Under his leadership, Dentons has strengthened its position as Canada's Global Law Firm, expanded collaboration across the global Dentons platform and continued to invest in the people, capabilities and technology that support clients' evolving needs.

He champions innovation and the thoughtful adoption of artificial intelligence across the practice and business of law. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as Managing Partner of the Calgary office, Chair of the Audit Committee, member of the National Management Committee and member of the Canada Board.

Beyond Dentons, Tim is actively involved with organisations committed to meaningful community impact, including serving as an advisory board member for Catalyst Canada, a board member with Right to Play (2022-2026) and a member of United Way's Inclusive Local Economic Opportunity Leadership Table. He holds an LLB and an MBA from the University of Alberta and a BA (Hons) in Political Science and Economics from the University of Manitoba. In 2023, he was named CEO of the Year by the Canadian Law Awards.
