Aliya H. Virji

Aliya H. Virji is an Associate in Dentons' Corporate and Banking and Finance groups in Edmonton, practicing in the areas of corporate and commercial law, financial services, and real estate law.

She advises both lenders and borrowers on financial transactions, and assists clients with corporate organization and governance, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, and commercial real estate matters. Notable transactions include acting for Okanagan Dealership Holdings Ltd. on a share and real estate sale, acting for P&R Truck Centre Ltd on a share sale, and advising Universal Rail Systems Inc. on its sales process by way of plan of arrangement.

Aliya holds a J.D. and a B.Sc. (with Distinction) from the University of Alberta (2022, 2019). She joined Dentons as a summer student in 2020 and returned as an articling student in 2022.

She volunteers as a lawyer at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre and participates in the Provincial Court Civil Claims Duty Counsel Program and the Court of King's Bench Amicus Program.
