Byron Reynolds

Byron Reynolds is a Partner in Dentons' Calgary office, practicing in the firm's Energy Law, Infrastructure and PPP, and Corporate groups. He focuses on mergers and acquisitions and project development, including structuring and negotiating complex commercial arrangements relating to asset and share purchases, partnerships and joint ventures, EPC arrangements, operation and maintenance agreements, long-term service agreements, commodity transportation and sale arrangements, and debt and equity financings.

Mr. Reynolds has extensive experience in carbon markets, helping clients reduce carbon footprints and navigate rapidly evolving regulatory regimes. Notable transactions include advising Dow Chemical Canada on its US$6.5 billion Path2Zero investment to build the world's first net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions integrated ethylene cracker facility, advising Atura Power on its successful joint venture bid for a 250 MW battery energy storage system, advising Enbridge Inc. on the monetization of a CA$2.25 billion renewable power portfolio joint venture with CPPIB, advising Ontario Power Generation on the CA$2.8 billion acquisition of a 1,858MW power generation portfolio, and advising BMO Capital Markets on a CA$865.2 million project-finance bond offering in connection with Enbridge's disposition of pipeline interests to Athabasca Indigenous Investments—the largest Indigenous partnership in the North American energy sector.

He holds a J.D. from the University of Calgary (2013) and a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of British Columbia – Okanagan (2009).
