Charles Spector

Charles Spector is a Partner in Dentons' Montreal office and leads the firm's national Corporate Law practice group, focusing on public and private corporate and project financing, takeovers, and mergers and acquisitions.

He represents clients in key industries including energy, oil and gas, pulp and paper and mining, advising on public offerings, private placements, takeover bids and defense strategies, leveraged buy-outs, private power project financing, corporate reorganizations and corporate governance. Notable matters include advising Cascades Inc. on concurrent note offerings of US$650 million and CA$175 million, advising Boralex Inc. on its acquisition of Enel Green Power France for total consideration of $400 million, advising the Special Committee of Pershimco Resources Inc. on its CA$95 million combination with Orla Mining Ltd., and advising Knight Therapeutics Inc. on multiple equity financings in excess of CA$500 million. He also advised the Montreal Port Authority on a CA$150 million senior unsecured debenture offering and Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines Limited on its CA$4.9 billion acquisition by Cliffs Natural Resources Inc.

Charles holds a B.A. from McGill University (1980), a BCL from the Université de Sherbrooke (1985), and an LL.M. from Columbia University (New York) (1989).
