Gord (Gordon) L. Tarnowsky, KC

Gord (Gordon) L. Tarnowsky, KC is a Senior Partner in Dentons' Canada Region Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Calgary, focusing on the resolution of corporate, commercial and energy industry disputes. He served as the National Practice Group Leader for the Canada Region Litigation and Dispute Resolution group for over eight years.

He draws upon 35 years of experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation, providing strategic advice and representation in both domestic and international disputes. He has extensive experience in the energy industry, including disputes concerning joint venture agreements, farmout agreements, AMI agreements, pipeline and facility agreements, gas and electricity purchase agreements, royalty agreements, and joint operating agreements. His practice also includes corporate and securities disputes, including oppression, derivative and fair value proceedings, plans of arrangement, hostile takeovers, and proxy battles. He has also appeared before all levels of the Alberta Courts, the Alberta Securities Commission and the Federal Court of Canada, and has served as counsel in ICSID and ICC arbitrations.

Gord holds an LL.B (with Distinction) and a B.Comm. (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan, and has completed advanced negotiation and mediation training at the Harvard Negotiation Institute. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2014.
