Jeremy Tam

Jeremy Tam is an Associate in the Tax group at Dentons Toronto, specializing in Tax Law with a focus on charity and non‑profit law. He advises charitable and non‑profit organizations on a wide range of legal matters, including governance, compliance, regulatory issues, and tax‑exempt status.

Jeremy has extensive experience working in faith‑based and other charitable organizations across multiple countries, having served in roles ranging from frontline volunteer to senior staff and board chair. This gives him a distinctive personal understanding and empathy regarding the needs and perspectives of charities, enabling him to craft client‑centred solutions that are holistic and comprehensive. He has counseled clients on human rights cases regarding trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation and on refugee and asylum seeker matters, and has developed anti‑trafficking training for law students and legal professionals.
