Pamela Shin

Pamela Shin is a Partner in the Tax group at Dentons, specializing in Tax Law. She focuses on charity and non-profit law, partnering with impact‑focused organizations to enable their missions and co‑create transformative social outcomes.

Pamela has counseled boards and c‑suites for some of the world's largest private foundations and relief, development, and advocacy organizations. She has advised on partnerships and funding decisions exceeding US$1 billion for a COVID‑19 vaccine initiative, US$350 million for education and entrepreneurship, and US$200 million to enable access to finance for emerging businesses. Her experience includes partnerships with the World Food Programme, the European Union, the Global Fund, Vision Fund International, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, as well as relief work for the Horn of Africa Famine, the South Sudan Refugee Crisis, and the G8 Muskoka Initiative on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health. She has also led advocacy on Canadian supply‑chain transparency legislation and secured exemptions from commission‑based fundraising restrictions for digital marketing.

She holds an LL.B and a B.A. (Hons) from Western University (2005, 2008).

Pamela was a Lexpert Rising Star: Leading Lawyers Under 40 (2019) and received the Canadian Law Department of the Year Excellence Award (2020). She is Chair of Dentons WomenLEAD Network in Toronto.
