Joanne Lui

Joanne Lui is a Senior Associate in Dentons' Commercial Real Estate group, specialising in Real Estate Law. Her practice involves all aspects of commercial real estate including acquisitions and dispositions, commercial development, financing, and leasing. Based in Calgary, she also advises on a wide range of general corporate commercial matters, including asset and share purchase and sale transactions, corporate reorganizations, and corporate governance.

Joanne has advised on significant transactions, including advising Parkland Corporation on the acquisition of 163 Husky and Esso retail locations across Canada, acting as Canadian counsel to KPS Capital Partners, LP on its affiliates agreement to acquire Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Inc. from CRH Plc for approximately US$3.45 billion, and advising Howden as lead Canadian advisor on its acquisition of Compressor Products International.

Joanne holds a J.D. (Honours) from the University of Windsor and a J.D. (Cum Laude) from the University of Detroit Mercy (2020), as well as a B.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology from Queen's University (2013).
