Karin Kazakevich

Karin Kazakevich is an Associate in the Media and Entertainment and Corporate groups at Dentons in Toronto. She provides strategic legal counsel on the development, financing, production, and exploitation of diverse film, television, and commercial media projects, regularly acting for a broad range of clients from independent producers to leading global studios.

She is recognized for her work on complex domestic and cross-border productions and entertainment financing transactions, bringing a commercially focused, practical approach to structuring and negotiating agreements across the full production lifecycle. She is recognized by The Legal 500 Canada and Chambers Canada for Media and Entertainment.

Before entering the legal profession, she gained hands-on industry experience working in live television and producing independent films, giving her a uniquely informed, industry-driven perspective. She holds a JD from York University, Osgoode Hall Law School (2021) and a BA from Toronto Metropolitan University (2018). She joined Dentons as a summer student in 2019 and completed her articles with the firm in 2021–2022. She serves on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association's Entertainment, Media, and Communications Law Section and on the Board of Directors of Prologue Performing Arts.
