Mark Kopitar

Mark Kopitar is a Partner in the Securities and Corporate Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions groups at Dentons, and serves as the Calgary leader of the Securities and Corporate Finance group.

He practices corporate and securities law with a focus on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and securities regulatory compliance. He regularly works with issuers and investment dealers on public and private equity, debt and hybrid securities offerings, Canadian and international stock exchange listings, continuous disclosure matters, takeover and issuer bids, plans of arrangement, privatizations, reorganizations, divestitures and asset and share purchase transactions. Notable matters include advising Vermilion Energy on its CA$1.075 billion acquisition of Westbrick Energy Ltd., advising Canadian Natural Resources Limited on its acquisition of Storm Resources Ltd., and advising Mullen Group Ltd. on its CA$400 million private placement of senior secured notes.

Mark holds a J.D. from the University of Saskatchewan (2014) and a B.A. from the University of Alberta (2010).
