Natasha MacParland

Natasha MacParland is a Partner, National Co-Leader, and Toronto Leader of the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group at Dentons Canada, practicing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. She provides counsel on insolvency and restructuring matters arising under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, and related statutory frameworks, with significant experience in complex restructurings, cross-border insolvencies, creditor rights enforcement, and transactions involving distressed businesses and assets.

Ms. MacParland regularly advises debtors, lenders, court-appointed officers, trustees, private equity sponsors, and acquirers in sophisticated and high-stakes proceedings, including distressed acquisitions and sale and investment solicitation processes. Notable matters include acting as counsel to the court-appointed monitor of a major Canadian tobacco company in CCAA and Chapter 15 proceedings involving a CA$32.5 billion settlement, advising a critical minerals acquiror on its acquisition of a copper mining company through Chapter 11 and CCAA, and acting as counsel for a central bank, federal government department, and multiple private equity firms on insolvency-related matters.

She holds admissions in Newfoundland (1998) and Ontario (1999). She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada in Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law, Chambers Global and Chambers Canada in Restructuring/Insolvency, IFLR1000 as Highly Regarded and a Women Leader, and Legal 500 Canada as a Leading Partner.
