Sara-Ann Wilson

Sara-Ann Wilson is Counsel in the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy group at Dentons, specializing in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law. Her practice focuses on corporate insolvency proceedings and financial services, including proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada) and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (Canada) (CCAA). She advises creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders on informal work‑outs, security enforcement, receiverships, bankruptcy proceedings, BIA proposals, and CCAA proceedings.

Sara-Ann has extensive experience in complex cross‑border insolvency and restructuring proceedings, including Chapter 11 cases under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. She advises indenture trustees and bondholder groups, and regularly represents receivers, trustees, and court‑appointed monitors. Notable matters include acting for the indenture trustee of a US$200 million indenture issued by Nortel Networks Limited in its multi‑billion dollar global insolvency proceedings; acting for the indenture trustee of US$400 million Senior Secured Notes in Essar Steel Algoma's CCAA proceedings; advising LightSquared LP on its multi‑billion cross‑border Chapter 11 proceeding; and acting as receiver's counsel in the receivership of Bending Lake Iron Group Limited.

Sara-Ann holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto (2007). She is a Global Regional Director of the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and Past Chair of the IWIRC Ontario Network.
