Shermaine S.F. Chua

Shermaine S.F. Chua is an Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Dentons' Vancouver office, specialising in Dispute Resolution. She maintains a broad litigation practice with experience in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and Aboriginal law disputes, and is called to the bars of British Columbia and the Yukon.

Shermaine has acted as counsel before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and the Alberta Court of Justice, and has advised Indigenous groups and industry on matters including duty to consult, Aboriginal rights and title, and trespass on reserve lands. She has also advised on professional regulatory investigations and discipline matters. She is actively involved in pro bono and access‑to‑justice initiatives, serving as a Volunteer Lawyer with Access Pro Bono Society of BC.

Shermaine holds a J.D. from the University of Victoria (2023), where she served on the editorial board of Appeal: Review of Current Law and Law Reform and received the Ronald F. MacIsaac Prize for a research paper on an Indigenous rights topic. Prior to law school, she worked as an investment representative at a leading wealth management firm.
