Samantha Chang

Samantha Chang is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Dentons' Vancouver office, specialising in Dispute Resolution. She acts as counsel in complex commercial litigation, class action defense, and commercial arbitrations and mediations, with a focus on shareholder disputes, oppression proceedings, contested transactions, securities litigation, contractual disputes, professional negligence and competition law.

Samantha has advised clients across a broad range of industries, with particular experience in technology, financial services and forestry. She advised Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. on the separation of its studios and streaming businesses by way of plan of arrangement and on the launch of Lionsgate Studios Corp. on NASDAQ. She also represented Gold Flora Corporation in a precedent-setting decision regarding dissenting shareholders' fair value rights following a business combination, which was named one of Lexpert's Top 10 Business Decisions of 2024/2025. She has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in British Columbia and in Federal Court, as well as in commercial arbitrations.

Samantha holds a J.D. from The University of British Columbia (2013) and a B.Com in Marketing and Global Strategy from McGill University (2009).

She is recognised by Chambers Canada in Litigation: General Commercial, by The Legal 500 Canada in Dispute Resolution, and by The Best Lawyers in Canada: Ones to Watch in Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Class Action Litigation, Intellectual Property Law and Securities Law. She previously served as President of the Vancouver Bar Association (2021–2023).
