He has represented Chinese investors, sovereign and investment funds, private and public companies, and major Chinese SOEs in significant transactions in Canada, particularly in the natural resources and mining sectors, and has advised Canadian and US companies in natural resources, manufacturing, high-tech, environment, infrastructure and financial transactions in China. Notable matters include advising MMG on its US$5.85 billion acquisition of the Las Bambas copper project in Peru, advising Binder Capital Corporation on the sale of Avmax Group Inc., and advising Geo-Jade Petroleum on its CA$725 million acquisition of Bankers Petroleum. He has also advised Chinese financial institutions, including Bank of China and China Development Bank, on project financing in Canada.
