William (Bill) K. Jenkins, ICD.D

William (Bill) K. Jenkins, ICD.D is a Partner in Dentons' Corporate, Securities and Corporate Finance, and Mergers and Acquisitions groups, based in Calgary. His practice focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions, advising on the structuring and implementation of complex mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, project financings and joint ventures, particularly in the energy, infrastructure and communications industries.

Bill was the presiding member of the National Partnership Board of Dentons Canada from 2009 to 2015 and participated in the formation of Dentons, serving as the first Global Vice Chair of Dentons from Canada from 2012 until the end of 2015.

His experience includes advising RBC Capital Markets and Scotiabank as joint lead agents on a CA$336 million offering of fixed-rate senior secured amortizing bonds supporting the acquisition of a 12.5% equity interest in Enbridge's Westcoast natural gas pipeline system, and advising Vermilion Energy on its CA$1.075 billion acquisition of Westbrick Energy Ltd. via Plan of Arrangement. He also advised The Shaw Family Living Trust in connection with the approximately CA$26 billion acquisition of Shaw Communications Inc. by Rogers Communications Inc., and advised the Special Committee of Inter Pipeline Ltd. in its response to an unsolicited takeover bid by Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P.

Bill holds an LLB, Gold Medal, and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, and completed the Directors Education Program at ICD-Rotman in 2022. He has received the Client Choice Award from Lexology for M&A in Canada and is recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader for Capital Markets by Who's Who Legal.
