Andrew (Andy) Avery

Andrew (Andy) Avery is a Senior Associate at Dentons, practicing in the Real Estate Law group in Calgary. He has experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale transactions, mortgage‑backed financing, leasing, development, development of land, and resolving certificate of title issues.

Andy advises purchasers, vendors, borrowers, mortgage lenders, mezzanine lenders, developers, landlords, and tenants. He is regularly engaged to manage all real property components of mergers and acquisitions transactions. Notable matters include advising on a reorganization involving a mixed‑use downtown tower in Calgary, the purchase and development of a shopping centre in south Calgary, and serving as lead real estate lawyer on a share sale acquisition of over 50 pharmacy locations across Canada.

He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary (2016) and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 2017.

Andy has been recognized in Chambers Canada as a Real Estate Associate to Watch in Alberta (2025).
