Daniel C.P. Stachnik, KC

Daniel C.P. Stachnik, KC, is Senior Counsel in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, based in the Edmonton office, practicing in Dispute Resolution. With over 45 years of legal experience, his primary focus lies in civil litigation including commercial, construction, occupational health and safety, employer-employee relations, and human rights. His expertise extends to shareholder disputes and wrongful dismissal actions.

Mr. Stachnik is highly sought after for his involvement in investigating and defending occupational health and safety matters, having participated in over 125 OHS cases. His courtroom experience spans across all levels of court, the Human Rights Commission, and the Labour Relations Board. He represents prominent clients within the construction, manufacturing, and oil and gas industries.

Daniel holds an LL.B. from the University of Alberta (1977) and a B.A. in Political Science with distinction from the same institution (1973). He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2000 (now King's Counsel) and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada in Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Labour and Employment Law, Construction Law, and Product Liability Law, and was named Lawyer of the Year for Corporate and Commercial Litigation in 2018.
