Joel Cabelli

Joel Cabelli is a Partner and co-lead of the Corporate/Commercial group at Dentons, based in the Montréal office, practicing in Banking and Finance Law. He serves as a member of the Dentons Canada Region Board and represents clients in commercial credit transactions, syndicated loans, factoring transactions, real estate lending, asset-based lending, aviation financing, equipment financing, project financing, and derivative products. He also advises on debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and commercial matters.

Mr. Cabelli has advised on numerous significant cross-border and domestic transactions, including representing Bank of Montreal as administrative agent and sole bookrunner on a US$170 million cross-border secured acquisition financing for Pivotal Payments, advising a syndicate of lenders on a CA$1 billion project financing for a bypass highway in Edmonton, and representing a US bank on a US$485 million cross-border syndicated financing for a leading provider of cleaning and environmental solutions. He also advised 5N Plus Inc. on its acquisition of AZUR SPACE Solar Power GmbH and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. on its US$375 million fixed rate second lien term loan, and has acted for clients including Bank of Montreal, National Bank of Canada, PNC Bank, Roynat Capital, and Crédit Agricole.

Joel holds an LLL from the University of Ottawa (1997) and completed the first part of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax Course. He is a member of the Québec Bar and the Canadian Bar Association.
