Kelli N. Patel

Kelli N. Patel is a Partner and national co-leader of the Corporate group at Dentons Canada, specialising in Mergers and Acquisitions. She advises clients on corporate governance, corporate and commercial law, and cross-border M&A, with a particular focus on project management of global M&A transactions for public and private companies across energy, construction, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, automotive, transportation, food and beverage, and technology sectors.

Kelli has led numerous significant transactions, including advising Mattr Corp. on its US$280 million acquisition of AmerCable Incorporated, advising MATTR Infratech on the US$225 million sale of its global pipe‑coating business, and advising Bayer AG on the US$9 billion sale of its global seeds business to BASF. She also advised Ontario Power Generation on its approximately $2.8 billion acquisition of a 1,858 MW portfolio of natural gas‑fired power plants, and SkyPower Global on its US$1.3 billion investment in photovoltaic solar energy facilities in Uzbekistan. She has extensive experience in share and asset purchase transactions, amalgamations, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and post‑closing integration, as well as drafting complex shareholder, partnership and commercial agreements.

Kelli holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto (2011) and Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Health Sciences degrees from York University (2008).

She is recognised by The Legal 500 Canada in Corporate and M&A and by IFLR 1000 Canada in M&A.
