Kenda Shaheen

Kenda Shaheen is a Partner in the Corporate group at Dentons in Toronto. She specializes in corporate law with a focus on private mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. She draws from extensive experience collaborating with clients in the venture technology space, both on the company and investor side, and frequently advises emerging and high-growth companies across diverse industries on each stage of their corporate lifecycle, from incorporation to exit, including equity and debt financing and day-to-day corporate matters. She also works closely with venture capital funds and strategic investors on investments into portfolio companies.

After articling with Dentons' Toronto office, she joined the Corporate group in Dubai, where she played a key role advising on various corporate and commercial transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and company setups and structures for both local and international clients. She has advised StackAdapt on its US$235 million financing led by Teachers' Venture Growth and its US$250 million financing led by Summit Partners; Eagle Quest International on its acquisition of Accucam Machining; M/C Partners and Carbon60 on acquisitions of Cirrus9 and OpsGuru Canada; and alder apparel on a CA$2 million seed round. She has also advised sellers of a Canadian human-computer interaction company on its acquisition by a Silicon Valley-based tech giant, and various early-stage and later-stage companies on venture equity and debt financing.

She is head of Dentons' Toronto Student Committee and is recognized by Chambers Canada for Corporate Commercial and Start-ups & Emerging Companies. She holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School (2015) and a Bachelor of Science from McGill University (2010). She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
