Manveer S. Bisla

Manveer S. Bisla is a Partner in the firm's Corporate and Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies groups, based in the Vancouver office. He brings significant corporate and securities law expertise, particularly in corporate finance (private placements, debt offerings), corporate governance, board and shareholder matters, equity compensation plans, share reorganizations, and restructuring. He is active in the Canadian start-up landscape and technology sector.

Mr. Bisla has advised numerous tech companies through venture capital equity and convertible debt financings, share reorganizations, and restructurings. His recent experience includes advising SALUS Technologies on its US $8 million Series A financing, advising a client on a $68 million Series C financing round, acting for a crown corporation in a CAD $10 million preferred share financing and USD $13 million preferred share financing with a USD $10 million secondary, and advising a client on its lead investment in a $30 million Series A financing round. He also handles matters relating to eligible business corporations and VC corporations under the Small Business Venture Capital Act (British Columbia), and commercial contracts including employment, consulting, distribution, and reseller agreements.

Manveer holds an LLB from the University of Ottawa (2011) and a BA from the University of British Columbia (2006). He is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.

He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada in Technology Law.
