Renée Brosseau

Renée Brosseau is a bilingual Counsel in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, based in the Toronto office. She is recognized as one of Canada's leading lawyers in banking, lending, real estate litigation, and title fraud, with extensive experience in managing risk and designing national portfolio litigation programs.

Ms. Brosseau regularly advises financial institutions on conventional and reverse mortgages, as well as mortgage default insurers, on underwriting, servicing, consumer protection, compliance, portfolio acquisitions, and regulatory matters. She also advises creditors and debtors on insolvency, fraud, enforcement, recovery, and counsels companies on real estate and M&A-related issues. She is particularly known for navigating complex real estate and banking fraud matters, untangling sophisticated fraud schemes, and protecting clients' interests.

She holds an LLB from the University of Ottawa (2001) and an MA from Carleton University (2000). She has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada in Banking and Finance Law, by The Legal 500 Canada in Restructuring and Insolvency, and received the Client Choice Award for Restructuring & Insolvency Advisers in Ontario (2022).
