Vivian Poon

Vivian Poon is a Senior Associate in Dentons' Corporate group, specialising in Corporate Law. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, technology contracting, licensing and outsourcing.

Vivian has acted for clients on both the buy and sell side of domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including advising on the US$225 million sale of MATTR's global pipe‑coating business and managing a cross‑practice team across multiple jurisdictions. She has significant experience in complex technology transactions, including software licensing and development, technology procurement, data sharing, e‑commerce and outsourcing arrangements. Vivian was seconded to Loblaw Companies Limited where she worked on commercial contracting and corporate matters. Prior to law school, she was an epidemiologist for several national and provincial healthcare research institutions.

Vivian holds a J.D. from Dalhousie University (2017), a Master of Science from York University (2010), and a Bachelor of Science (Sp. Hons) from York University (2008). She is recognised in The Best Lawyers in Canada: Ones to Watch for Corporate Law.
