Dennis R. Wiebe

Dennis R. Wiebe is a Partner at Dentons Canada LLP and Co‑Chair of Dentons' global Banking and Finance group, specializing in Banking and Finance Law. He has a specialized banking and finance practice focusing on lending transactions and restructuring and insolvency matters, representing Canadian and foreign lenders and borrowers in structuring domestic and cross‑border commercial loan transactions, syndicated and multi‑currency financings, merger and acquisition financings, asset securitizations, equipment lease transactions, corporate reorganizations, debt restructurings, and enforcement of creditors' rights.

Dennis has represented Bank of Montreal as administrative agent for syndicates of lenders on a number of significant transactions, including a US$8.5 billion amended and restated senior secured credit facility to finance the acquisition of fleet assets in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand; a CA$1.5 billion facility to finance the acquisition of a North American fleet management services business; and a US$585 million revolving credit facility and US$600 million bridge credit facility to support the acquisition of leased railcars and a leased helicopter portfolio. He has also represented a global bank in its US$80 million financing to GHD in connection with their acquisition of Conestoga‑Rovers & Associates, and regularly represents HSBC Bank Canada and JP Morgan Chase Bank NA in numerous syndicated loan facilities.

He holds an LL.B from the University of Western Ontario (1983) and a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Waterloo (1980).
