Erica Shadeed

Erica Shadeed is a Partner in Dentons' Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, specializing in Dispute Resolution. Her practice spans various types of litigation, with a particular focus on class action defence, consumer protection, and product liability. She also advises clients in the construction sector, particularly in connection with major infrastructure projects and public‑private partnerships.

Erica regularly provides strategic legal advice in complex, high‑profile class action lawsuits involving consumer protection, product liability, privacy, and competition law claims. Notable matters include defending Nissan in multiple high‑stakes privacy class actions arising from a customer data breach, successfully limiting the certified class size and negotiating a settlement of approximately 0.1% of the original claim; advising Infrastructure Canada on contractual disputes in connection with the $3.977 billion Samuel De Champlain Bridge project, including defending against a $379 million claim; successfully obtaining dismissal of a class action against Yahoo Inc. alleging a data breach; and representing major online travel providers in obtaining dismissal of a class action alleging false and misleading advertising. She also advises on product marketing, pricing, advertising, and French language compliance.

Erica holds a BCL and LL.B from McGill University (2013) and a B.A. from the University of Toronto (2010). She was admitted to the Québec Bar in 2016.
